Creating a Live Connection and Automatic Refresh
1. To create a live connection, make sure Tableau Cloud is signed in.
2. Under Data, choose the desired data source.
3. Choose ‘Publish to Server’.
4. A new window will pop up, where the project location in Tableau Cloud can be selected.
5. The name of the Salesforce Connection can be changed.
6. Under Authentication, click edit.
7. A new window will pop up, where you can enter the password you would like to embed in order to enable scheduled Refresh capabilities.
8. To publish the data source, click ‘Publish’.
9. A new Tableau Cloud window will open. To schedule an automatic refresh of the Salesforce Connection, when publishing is complete click on ‘Schedule’.
10. Refresh Type can be chosen.
11. Refresh Frequency can be chosen.
12. Click ‘Create’ to schedule the refresh of the data source.
