Here is a list of our favorite Salesforce tips and tricks.
Use global search to
avoid creating duplicates. The Salesforce global search can be used to
search for your contact by First and/or Last Name, as well as other search parameters such as address, phone number, and / or last four of ssn.

Pin your preferred
list view. List Views are a great way to sort, prioritize, and analyze the records
that are most important to you. By default, Salesforce list views display a
list of Recently Viewed records. Click the arrow to the right of Recently
Viewed to change your list view.

Click the push pin icon to make that list view your new default.

Right-click blue
hyperlinks. On any hyperlinked record, indicated by blue text, right-click
to open the record in a new tab or even a new window. This allows you to keep
your place in the application in one tab and work directly with a single record
on the other.

Collapse sections on
a record to avoid unnecessary content. There may be sections on a record
that are not applicable to your program or role. Click the heading on the
record’s details tab to collapse sections of content not applicable. Salesforce
will save these preferences on future records. Note: This is not
available in the pop-up edit mode.

Clone to copy records.
Rather than recreating a record that is updated on say, a yearly basis, use the
Clone function to create a copy of that record and update the content
accordingly. Why not save yourself a little time?

Display density. Use the menu in the right corner of your screen to control your screen’s
layout. The Compact option allows more information to show on screen: it has a
denser view with labels to the left of fields and less space between page
elements– perfect for those who want to see as much information as possible.
The Comfy option has a spacious view with labels on the top of fields and more
space between page elements.
Favorites. Just
like you can favorite a web page, you can favorite specific records, list
views, and even reports in Salesforce. Use the handy favorite feature to easily
access frequently visited places.

My contact, Elle Woods is now added to my Favorites list.
Click Edit Favorites to edit the page name or delete from the Favorites
list.
More. If you don’t see the object you need on the
navigation bar, click More.

Voila! Select the option you need. If the tab is not in the
list, it is not included in your current app. Use the App Launcher (those nine
dots that look like a die) in the upper left corner of your screen to search.
Salesforce Help Menu.
What is that question mark, you may
be asking yourself. Great question!

Click the question
mark to view all the areas where you can find Salesforce help. Keep in mind the
information in not organization-specific, but you might find some useful information
and the option to go to Trailhead to build your Salesforce knowledge. As
Benjamin Franklin once said, “An investment in knowledge pays the best
interest.”
