This option for making a field required works well for objects with existing data and/or automation.
1. While in setup and on the appropriate object, select the page layout on which you want to make a field required.
2. Once viewing the page layout, double click the field you want to make required. We are using the 'Email' field in our example.
3. After the 'Field Properties' box appears, check the 'Required' checkbox and then click OK.
4. You will then see that the field in question has a red asterisks next to it. This signifies that is will now be required. To complete the update, click the Save button on the page layout.
