If a user becomes locked out of Salesforce or forgets their password, a System Administrator can reset their password by following the steps below.

1. Navigate to "Setup": In order to reset a user's password, you must first select the gear icon in the upper right corner of your screen and then "Setup".

2. Navigate to the Table of Users: In the new window/tab that opened, type "users" into the "Quick Find" box and then select "Users".

3. Reset the Password(s): Select the checkbox next to the user's name and then click the 'Reset Password' button. The user will then receive an email that has a link as well as instruction to reset their password. You can reset passwords for more than one user at a time by selecting checkboxes next to multiple users before clicking the 'Reset Password' button.

Notes

  • The link in a password reset email is only valid for 24 hours. If users do not reset their password within 24 hours of the email being sent, admins will have to repeat this process.
  • Resetting the password of a user that has been locked-out automatically unlocks their account.
